1. What is Provided by the Travel Grant?
The Travel Grant for ISMEI is awarded to top-selected oral presentation participants (both domestic and international). The grant covers:
- Transportation expenses ((reimbursement basis)
- Accommodation during the event
Note: Registration for the symposium (ISMEI) itself is free for all paper and non-paper participants.
2. Target Eligibility & Selection Mechanism
- Target Audience: Travel grants are specifically offered to primary/secondary education teachers who teaching mathematics originating from SEAMEO Member Countries.
- Eligible SEAMEO Member Countries (11 Countries):
Brunei Darussalam
Cambodia
Indonesia
Lao PDR
Malaysia
Myanmar
Philippines
Singapore
Thailand
Timor-Leste
Vietnam
- Selection Criteria: Grants are awarded competitively to top-ranked candidates based on the quality and review of their submitted paper or extended abstract.
- Review Process: paper or extended abstract submissions are evaluated on a rolling basis. Early submission increases the likelihood of selection as grant allocations are limited.
- Submission Requirement: To qualify for selection, participants must submit their best work on time (Oral Presenters submit an Abstract and Extended Abstract/Full Paper).
Note: Telephone interviews in English may be conducted to confirm the review results.
3. What is the Timeline?
- Submission Deadline (Extended Abstract & Poster): 5 September 2026
- Evaluation & Selection Period: 7 – 11 September 2026
- Official Announcement: 14 September 2026
- Symposium Dates: 14 – 15 October 2026 (Hosted onsite at FMIPA UNNES, Semarang, Indonesia)
